It imitates four biological principles: the match-based recognition mechanism in protein sorting equips eTissue a flexible cell replacement capability; substitution among homogeneous cells, differentiation of adult stem cells, and conversion between heterogeneous cells mechanisms compose a three-level dynamic self-healing strategy. Fault-injection experiments show that eTissue has promising self-healing capabilities.
