AB  - &lt;p&gt;The paper deals with the novel supply system for two phase induction motor. The system comprises just single leg of matrix converter, and features by reduced number of active and passive components of the supply unit. In comparison to VSI one-leg inverters with rather bulky smoothing capacitors, direct matrix converters operate without DC-link circuit.
