Attribute Grammars (AGs) present a well-known formal approach for defining programming languages. This paper presents a new approach to language specification which increases the level of attribute grammars modularity and reusability and decreases developers’ effort for specifying a new language. The paper introduces Aspect-Oriented Attribute Grammars (AOAGs) which extend the original notion of attribute grammars with features known from Aspect-Oriented Programming (AOP).
